Fred H. Land of Caledonia, Missouri was born on December 21, 1930 in Leasburg, Missouri a son to the late Leon Holman Land and the late Mary (Drew) Land. On May 31, 1950, Fred was united in marriage to Beverly Pennock and there were three children born to this union.
Fred entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at his home at the age of eighty-seven.
Survivors include his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, Beverly Land of Caledonia; three children: Glen A. (Joyce) Land of Caledonia; Lindell D. (Lois) Land of Caledonia; Ramona (Joseph) Bradley of Festus; nine grandchildren: Joshua (Andrea) Land, Katherine Land, Lindsay (Greg) Murphy, Justin (Sarah) Land, Caleb (Lindsey) Land, Hannah (Adam) Jinkerson, Jenny (Brian) Hunt, Joe (Denise) Bradley, Matthew (Kristen) Bradley; twenty-five great-grandchildren; brother, Arthur Land and sister, Alice Vandaveer.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by three siblings: Warren (Irene) Land, Flora (Art) Hladnick and Charlie Land; brother-in-law, Hank Vandaveer.
Fred served in the United States Navy from August 6, 1948 until July 9, 1952.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-11 a.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the DeClue Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will commence at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 with Dr. Robert W. Yarbrough officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are directed to: First Love Ministries International, P.O. Box 15836, Loves Park, Illinois 61132-5836.
Interment and final prayers will be held in the Belgrade United Methodist Cemetery. Fred will receive full military honors presented by the United States Navy and VFW Post 6996.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
