Francis E. ?Bozo? Dobbs of Cadet, Missouri died on July 14, 2007 at Potosi Manor Nursing Home, having reached the age of 88 years, 5 months and 14 days. He was born at Blackwell, Missouri on January 30, 1919, a son of the late William Dobbs and Avie Pruitt Dobbs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Janet Courtway; sons, Michael Courtway, Francis Dobbs, Clyde ?Butch? Dobbs; step son, Larry Boyer, granddaughter, Mika Dobbs; one great grandson, Brandon Ehrheart; and son-in-law, Leonard Nash.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved the outdoors and loved to hunt.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his sons, Naymond Dobbs and wife Karen of Cadet, Frankie Dobbs of Cadet, William Dobbs and wife Susan of IL, Marvin Dobbs and special friend, Teresa Mueller of Mineral Point; his daughters, Virginia Bannister and husband Jeff of Cadet, Lesa Dobbs and fiance? Mickey Hahn of Cadet, Marcella Skaggs and husband Everett of Cadet, Rachel Freeman and husband William of Valles Mines, Mora Lee Dobbs and special friend, Lonnie Thompson of Cadet, Rose Dobbs and Gene Evans of Potosi, Ruby Bell of IL; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 1 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Jim Wade officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Naymond Dobbs, Billy Skaggs, Virginia Bannister, Lesa Dobbs, Rachel Freeman, Marcella Skaggs, Mora Lee Dobbs and Rose Dobbs; honorary pallbearers were Jack Dobbs and Brian Emily.
Interment and final prayers were held at New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi, Missouri.
