Eva Bernice Boyer of Blackwell, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at her residence having reached the age of seventy five years, seven months and three days. She was born on May 26, 1940 in Bliss, Missouri, a daughter to the late Thomas Sampson and the late Hazel (Warden) Sampson.
On June 22, 1957, Bernice was united in marriage to Wilburn Boyer and they shared fifty six years together.
Bernice is survived by her six children, Kathy Akers and husband Vernon of Blackwell; Lonnie Boyer and wife Kim of Blackwell; Reba Draper and husband Ronnie of St. Clair; Norman Boyer and wife Donna of Cadet; Renee Logsden and husband Roy of Potosi; Linda Cross and husband Mike of Blackwell; two brothers Ronald Sampson and wife Debbie of DeSoto; Tommy Sampson and wife Becky of DeSoto; sister Mildred Martin and husband Ray of Richwoods; eleven grandchildren Sheena Akers, Jeremy Akers, Matt Boyer and wife Julie, Tyler Boyer, Becky Williams and husband June, Devin Boyer and wife Samantha, Justine Boyer, Lindsey Reynolds and husband Terry, Morgan Logsden, Kayleen Cross and Ethan Cross; six great grandchildren David, Clayton, Hunter, Gage, Olivia and Hasten; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Bernice is preceded in death by her loving husband Wilburn Boyer and one sister Dorothy Pruitt.
Visitation washeld on Wednesday, December 30, from 4:30-8:00 pm and Thursday, December 31, from 9:00-11:00 am at the DeClue Funeral Home. Following the visitation Thursday, a procession will traveled to the St. Stephen's Catholic Cemetery where a graveside service was held at 11:30 AM with Fr. Bob Knight officiating.
Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
