Eurma Dalton

March 24, 1928 — November 2, 2013

Eurma Jean Dalton of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on November 2, 2013 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of eighty five years, seven months and nine days. She was born on March 24, 1928 in Desloge, Missouri a daughter to the late Clarence Eaton and Dora (Robbs) Eaton.
In addition to her parents, Eurma was preceded in death by her husband Delmar E. Dalton, three brothers Gaston "Red" Eaton, Denver "Monk" Eaton, Marvin "Bill" Eaton, two sisters Fern Jackson, Tince Borg, daughter in law Shirley Dalton and a special niece Patricia Joplin.
Eurma was a member of the Flat River Church of Christ in Park Hills, Missouri and the Cedar Falls Ladies Club. She knew Jesus Christ as her personal savior and believed in everlasting eternal life.
She was an amazing cook, she was especially known for her fried chicken dinners and carrot cake made from scratch. She prepared every holiday meal with love. She always looked forward to spending the holiday season with her children and grandchildren. She made sure to make each one of them feel very special on these occasions.
Eurma will be remembered as a very dedicated, hard working, determined women. She always completed the goals and tasks she set out to achieve. Many have commented and said, "She didn't have a lazy bone in her body." She led by example and will forever be noted for her amazingly strong work ethic.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are two sons Ronnie Dalton and wife Diane of Caledonia, Denny Dalton of Potosi; four grandchildren Deanna Mercille and husband C.J., Lucas Dalton, Sarah Pirtle and husband Jeremy, Clayton Dalton and wife Sarah; eight great grandchildren; special caregiver Stephanie Boyer staff Serenity Hospice; family care giver Virginia Pashia; and the friends and staff that have become like family over the years at Potosi Manor; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 11 AM at the DeClue Family Funeral Home with Rev. Bernie Crum officiating and Jerry Hawkins assisting. Serving as pallbearers were Cole Mercille, Lane Mercille, Lucas Dalton, Dave Simmons, Jeremy Pirtle, Chris Joplin, CJ Mercille, and Alan Dalton.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Woodlawn Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
