Eunice Standley

November 5, 1921 — August 13, 2009

Eunice Irene Standley of Potosi, Missouri departed this life August 13, 2009 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of eighty seven years, nine months and eight days. She was born on November 5, 1921 at Huzzah, Missouri a daughter to the late Rolo Sease and Hattie (Bays) Sease.

Eunice was a member of the Potosi United Methodist Church.
She was passionate about her family, friends, faith and writings. She kept in touch with her family and friends through her newsletter, ?Serendipity?.

Active in her church, Eunice served as a lay leader, certified lay speaker and served many years as a member of the official board. She taught Sunday School classes and organized youth events. She served as President of United Methodist Woman and was an active member of the choir as well as Bible study groups and many church activities.

While residing at Potosi Manor, Eunice served as President of the residence council and wrote a monthly newsletter for the residence.

Eunice?s love of literature and writing encouraged her to write and publish 4 books, ?A Torch In His Hand?, ?Adaptability?, ?DeDe, The Little Dandelion Who Wanted To Fly? and ?Gracing Down?.

Eunice will be remembered and missed by many as a wonderful and loving sister, aunt and friend.

In addition to her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by her husband James V. Standley; sister Helen Sease Hillen; two brother in laws Allan Blount and Edward Hillen.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life are a sister Catherine Blount of Houston, Texas; many nieces, nephews and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 10 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Bruce Pittman officiating.

Interment and final prayers were held at the New Masonic Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
