Merlyn Eugene Warden of Potosi, Missouri, went to his Heavenly home on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the age of seventy-nine. He was born on June 5, 1939 in Potosi, a son to the late William Warden, Sr. and the late Mamie Pearl (Becker) Warden. On September 5, 1959, Gene was united in marriage to Sharon Camillo and three children were born to this union.
Gene will be missed by all who loved and knew him, including his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Sharon Warden; three sons: Randy (Jackie) Warden, Mark (Kelly) Warden, and Chris (Julie) Warden; one brother, Paul (Donna) Warden; sister, Ruth Crew; five grandchildren: Dan (Kayla) Warden, Dustin (Amber) Warden, Dillion Warden, Hillary Mosier, and Amber Akers and friend Rodney English; seven great grandchildren: Devon, Skyler, Lane, Archer, Logan, Breanna, and Cati; two sisters-in-law: Betty Warden and Helen Camillo; also surviving are nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by two sisters: Mildred Nettles and Leona Camillo; two brothers: William Warden Jr. and George Warden; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Oliver and Virginia Camillo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in memory of Gene.
The family received friends on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. and on Tuesday, November 6, from 9-11 a.m. at the DeClue Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Bro. Roy Brakefield officiating, assisted by Elder Leonard Compton.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Calvary Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
