Etta Bliss

Etta Marie Bliss of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on September 8, 2006 at the Georgian Gardens Nursing Home in Potosi. She was born on November 11, 1914 at Huzzah, Missouri, a daughter of the late John W. Dotson and Elva (Dickey) Dotson.

She was united in marriage to Elbert Bliss on October 6, 1934 at Farmington, Missouri. Mr. Bliss preceded her in death on March 25, 1973. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by two daughters, Marilene Bliss and Virgina Rankins; three brothers, Ellis Dotson, Ralph Dotson and Calvin Dotson; two half-sisters, Anna May Zera and Lou Ellen Noland.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her son Delbert Bliss and wife Frances of Potosi; brothers Johnny Dotson of St. Louis, Jimmy Martin of Virginia; sister Margaret Schrum of St. Louis; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 Pm Tuesday at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Phil Schluter, Kenny Schrum, John Hose, Bryan Bliss, Kevin Petterson and Jim Moody.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
