Ethel Gensler

Ethel Ruth Gensler of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on October 30, 2008 at her residence, having reached the age of eighty seven years, nine months and twenty nine days. She was born on January 1, 1921 at Mineral Point, Missouri, a daughter of the late Clarence Politte and Lucy Woods Politte.

She was united in marriage on January 20, 1939 to William Gensler and they shared almost twenty eight years together and there were four children born to this union. Mr. Gensler preceded her in death in December 1967.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers Charles ?Jack? Politte, William ?Chub? Politte, Clarence ?Shorty? Politte, Percy Politte; two sisters Genevieve Politte and Alice Anderson.

She was a longtime member of the Hopewell Church of God and she loved her church and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, cousin and friend.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her daughter Betty Wade and husband Rick of Desloge; three sons Arvin ?Dean? Gensler and wife Judy; Billy Joe Gensler and wife Elmita; Gary Gensler and wife Mary all of Mineral Point; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 2 PM at Hopewell Church of God with Rev. Jim Wade and Rev. Phil Wade officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Dwight Politte, Johnny Politte, Nathan Hatfield, Alex Wade, Lee Anderson and Billy Portis.

Interment and final prayers were held at New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
