Espin Lawson

January 29, 1925 — April 5, 2013

Espin Spain Lawson of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on April 5, 2013 at his residence having reached the age of eighty eight years, two months and seven days. He was born on January 29, 1925 in Potosi, Missouri a son to the late Nelson Lawson and Nora Belle (Vance) Lawson.

In addition to his parents, Espin was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his daughters Mamie (Nixon) Lawson; three brothers Nelson Lawson, Pat Lawson, Rueben Lawson and an infant brother; six sisters Marcella Woods, Josephine Evans, Hester Woods, Ruby Winick, Ethel Morgan and Delores Woods.

Espin served in the United States Army from 1943 – 1945.

On June 26, 2000, Espin was united in marriage to Doris Crocker and they shared 12 years together.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Doris Lawson of Potosi; two daughters Barbara McKelvey and husband Gary of St. Charles, Mary Katherine Slover and husband Steve of Potosi; five step sons Jerry Crocker and wife Kathy of Potosi, Terry Crocker and wife Betsy of Bismarck, Rick Crocker of Stoney Point, Jimmy Crocker and wife Jessie of Potosi, Scotty Crocker of Freeburg; three brothers Earl Lawson of Cadet, Bud Lawson and wife Jane of Belleview, Jim Lawson and wife Aileen of Desloge; two sisters Marie Skiles of Potosi, Mildred King of Potosi; six grandchildren Eddie Sucher, Jason Sucher, Chad Sucher, Stevan Slover, Robert Slover, Daniel Slover; many great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday April 8, 2013 at 10 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton and Rev. Bud Lawson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Stevan Slover Jr, Robert Slover, Daniel Slover, Eddie Sucher, Jason Sucher and Chad Sucher.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Lemay, MO. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
