Emmett Copeland

Emmett William Copeland, known to many as "Bill," of Potosi, Missouri passed away on May 29, 2015 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of sixty one years, four months, and twenty-four days. He was born on January 5, 1954 a son to Mary (Byerley) and the late Donald Copeland. On March 16, 1982 Bill was united in marriage to Victoria (Everhart) Copeland and together they shared thirty three years. Those who remain to mourn his passing are his beloved wife Vickey Copeland of Potosi, Missouri; one son Emmett "Billy" Copeland, Jr. and fiance Holli Taylor of Potosi, Missouri; two daughters: Angela Lucas of Potosi, Missouri and Heather Lewis and husband Scott of Belgrade, Missouri; step-daughter Sissy of Villa Ridge, Missouri; two step-sons: Kevin Barton and wife Lisa of Cadet, Missouri and Anthony Young of Catawissa, Missouri; mother Mary Copeland of Villa Ridge, Missouri; brother Donald Copeland of Richwoods, Missouri; three sisters: Sandra O'Brien of Villa Ridge, Missouri, Mary Lou Hendrickson of Sullivan, Missouri, and Carol Hendrickson and husband Ray of Villa Ridge, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his father, Bill is preceded in death by his step-son Stephen Miller. Visitation for Bill was held on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home. Funeral services began at 2:00 PM in the DeClue Memorial Chapel on Monday with Rev. Robert Wade officiating. Interment and final prayers were held at the Sunset Cemetery. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
