Elvira Hinkle

June 27, 1940 — October 7, 2023

Elvira Velma Hinkle of Hopewell, Missouri, was born on June 27, 1940, a daughter of the late Nolan Edward Fann and the late Edna Bernice (Wilkinson) Fann. Elvira went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday evening, October 7, 2023. Elvia was united in marriage to Donald Ray Hinkle on April 25, 1959 and they shared nearly sixty-five years of life and love together. Elvira was a charter member of Hopewell Church of God where she faithfully attended until her health declined. However, her illness did not stop her passion to praise and worship her Lord and Savior. She enjoyed reading God’s word. In the recent years, Elvira always liked watching Jimmy Swaggart Ministries and Bill Gaither Homecoming Hour with Don.

In her early years, Elvira worked at both Georgian Gardens and Belleview Valley Nursing Homes as a nurse. Following her term in the nursing field, she went to work at the Cornerstone Christian Academy serving in many different areas. Her greatest joy was helping students succeed in both their education and their walk with Christ. She made an incredible impact on so many lives and her legacy will be as a ripple affect for generations.

Those who remain to treasure her memory include her dear husband, Donald Hinkle; three children: Donna King (husband, David), Gary Hinkle, and Tammy Lawson (husband, Jeff); loving sister, Eileen Wade; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Harold and Edna Hinkle, Wanda Hinkle, Billy Gensler, and Arleen Fann. Elvira also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Elvira was preceded in death by three children: Cynthia Sherry Gale Anderson, David Eugene Hinkle, and Tracy Denise (Hinkle) Ames; four siblings: Violet Wade, Robert Fann, Gale Breakfield, and Elmita Gensler.
