Elroy Le Claire

Elroy Hubert LeClaire of Desloge, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at his home, having reached the age of 87 years, 10 months, and 28 days. Elroy was born on November 3, 1935, in St. Charles, Missouri, a son of the late Paul Antone LeClaire and the late Anne (Stinger) LeClaire.

In addition to his parents and siblings, Elroy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shelba Jean LeClaire on May 22, 2019; and son-in-law, Robert Hall.

Those who remain to treasure his memory include his three children: Vicky Mueller (husband, Wayne), Debra Hrenak (husband, Tim), and Sandra Hall: three step children: Karl Littell (wife, Jennifer), Cindy Littell, and Steven Littell; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, as well as step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; sister, Alice Duke; as well as extended family.

Elroy served in the United States Army from September 5, 1958 to August 26, 1960. On September 25, 1986, Elroy was united in marriage to Shelba Jenkins and they shared nearly 33 years together. He enjoyed fishing, camping, spending time with his family, and was a fan of St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. Elroy was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 9 am until the time of his Funeral Service at 10 am, held at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, MO 63664. Elder Leonard Compton will officiate his service. Interment and final prayers will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery beginning at 1:30 pm. Mr. LeClaire will receive full military honors provided by the United States Army.
