Elmer Lavern Franklin Usher of Arcadia, Missouri departed this life on October 19, 2011 at his residence having reached the age of seventy four years, six months and nineteen days. He was born on March 31, 1937 at Pilot Knob, Missouri a son to the late John Usher and Myrtle (Richards) Usher.
On June 11, 1960, Elmer was united in marriage to Nellie Newhouse and they shared fifty one years together.
Elmer attended the Grace Christian Fellowship Church. He volunteered at the Ironton City Fire Department for over thirty years, he was a policeman for the City of Ironton for six years and was a member of the A.V. Elks for thirty years.
In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by an infant son John Paul Usher; two sisters Lucy Waltrip, Rose Linquist; eight brothers George Usher, Don Usher, Dan Usher, Moses Usher, Dave Usher, Ed Usher, Fred Usher and James Usher.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Nellie Usher of Arcadia; three sons Elmer Usher of Ironton; Kenneth Usher of Arcadia; Bobby Usher of Arcadia; two daughters Margaret Moyer of Farmington; Loretta Pogue of Ironton; twenty grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 11 AM at the Grace Christian Fellowship Church, Arcadia with Rev. Jerry Hawkins officiating.
Interment and final prayers were held at Granite View Cemetery, Roselle, MO. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
