Ellis Edmond Midgett of Desoto, Missouri departed this life on January 12, 2012 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center having reached the age of seventy nine years, four months and thirteen days. He was born on August 30, 1932 at Ishmael, Missouri a son to the late Arthur Midgett and Anna (Breakfield) Midgett.
Ellis served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1952-1955 Korean Conflict.
On September 17, 1954, Ellis was united in marriage to Lillian Beers and they shared fifty seven years together.
In addition to his parents, Ellis was preceded in death by a son Arthur Glenn Midgett; granddaughter Jessica Lynn Peterson; five brothers Kenneth Midgett, Nara Lindell Midgett, Samuel Azel Midgett, Lonie Midgett and Raymond Leslie Gilliam.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his loving wife Lillian (Beers) Midgett of Desoto; three daughters Donna (David) Lucas of Desoto; Connie Reynolds of Festus; Tammy Midgett of Desoto; four sons Dennis (Pam) Midgett of Desoto; Richard Midgett of Desoto; David (Ramona) Midgett of Barnhart; Douglas (Joanna) Midgett of Cadet; brother William (Anna June) Midgett of Desoto; sister Hazel Breakfield of Berger; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 1 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Wendell Nipper officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Jonathan Lucas, Josh Reynolds, Stephen Reynolds, James Midgett, Matthew Midgett and Alex Midgett.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Palmer Cemetery. Full Military Honors were provided consisting of a gun solute, taps, flag folding and presentation by the United States Marine Corp. and local VFW Post #6996. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
