Elenora Grace Britton of Potosi, Missouri, departed this life on August 21, 2006 at her residence, having reached the age of 62 years, 11 months and 26 days. She was born on August 26, 1943 at St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter of the late Leo Joseph Boyer and Ula Rose (Miller) Boyer.
On December 8, 1961, she was united in marriage to Leonard P. Britton at Potosi, Missouri. They shared over forty-four years of marriage together. Elenora was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her husband, Leonard Britton, Sr. of Potosi; three daughters, Cheryl Volner and husband Rick of Potosi, Billie Jo Skaggs and husband Mitch of Mineral Point and Jacklyn Britton of Sullivan; five sons, Leonard Britton, Jr. of Terra Haute, IN, Boyd Britton and wife Dolly of Irondale, Donald Britton and wife Penny of Potosi, John Boy Britton and special friend Gerald Venable of Baton Rouge, LA and Nary Britton and wife Chrissy of Branson; three brothers, Leo Boyer, Jr. and wife Sharon of Arnold, Andy Boyer and wife Velma of Sullivan, Lester Boyer and wife Donna of Newburg; two sisters, Ruth Ann Barrett of St. Louis, Mabel Norwood of High Ridge; step sons, Robbie and Jeff; special nieces, Judy, Virginia, Melinda, Wanda, Kim and Amy; twelve grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her smiling face.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 2 PM at Britton Chapel in Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Bob Thurman officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Robbie Smith, Jeff Mangrum, Gerald Venable, Lester Boyer, Jordan Britton, John Boy Britton, Judy Shaw and Joe Callahan.
Interment and final prayers were held at Calvary Cemetery, Potosi. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
