Elaine Sue LaChance, of DeSoto, Missouri, formerly of Potosi, was born on January 5, 1944 in DeSoto, a daughter of the late Ernest Schutz and the late Geraldine (Christopher) Schutz. Sue, as many knew her by, passed away Sunday evening, October 1, 2023 at SSM St. Clare Hospital, at the age of 79.
On June 29, 1963, Sue was united in marriage to Carl Leroy LaChance and they shared 60 years together. Sue had a deep love for her family and spending time with them. Her most favorite time of the year was Christmas, from decorating to the festivities. She loved it. Sue was a strong supporter of her son, grandson, and great grandsons motor cross racing. She enjoyed attending theie races and cheering them on. Sue also enjoyed her trips with Leroy to Montauk. She loved the outdoors. Sue will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband, Leroy LaChance; grandson, Cody LaChance; great grandson, Ryder Jacob LaChance; and sister, Debbie Cawley. Sue also leaves behind, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her father and mother, Sue was preceded in death by her son, Carl Edward "Eddie" LaChance; grandson, Carl Joseph "CJ" LaChance; and two brothers: James Schutz and Tom Schutz.
