Edward Minic Sansoucie of Cadet, Missouri, was born on June 26, 1941 in Cadet, a son of the late Raymond Joseph Sansoucie and the late Fannie (Emily) Sansoucie. Ed, as family and friends knew him by, departed this life on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 having reached the age of 82 years, 5 months, and 9 days.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Cathy Sansoucie; five children: Lisa (Sansoucie) Mitchell, Stephanie Johnson, Michael Sansoucie (wife, Tammy), Amy Sansoucie and Ellen, Rikki Arnett (husband, Justin); five grandchildren: Nick Owens, Alyssa Owens, Andrew Johnson, Karter Arnett and Kendra Arnett; numerous great grandchildren; and sister, Thelma "Rae" Govero. Ed also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Ed was preceded in death by his father and mother Raymond and Fannie Sansoucie; his first wife, Judy Carol (Coleman) Sansoucie; three siblings: Mary (Sansoucie) Mercer, Patrick Sansoucie, and Raymond "Tunce" Sansoucie.
Ed proudly served in the United States Army from December 3, 1963 to December 2, 1965. He was first employed at the Tiff mines and later went to work at the mines in Richwoods until he joined the DeSoto Laborers Union Local 718. Ed found joy hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, watching westerns, gardening, and playing his guitar and singing in church. Ed led a simple life and enjoyed being at his home. Ed also Enjoyed his visits with his brother-in-law, Paul, discussing the Bible. Ed will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 10:30 am until the time of his Funeral Service at 1 pm, held in the DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, MO 63664. Pastors Paul Keith and Robert Thurman will be officiating the service. Interment and final prayers will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiff, MO. Ed will receive full military honors presented by the United States Army.
