Edward Sansoucie

November 6, 1940 — December 28, 2012

Edward Bernie Sansoucie passed away at his home in Havasue Lake , Arizona at the age of seventy two years. Bernie was the oldest child of Edward Boonie Sansoucie and Dolores Bequette Sansoucie of Old Mines, Missouri.

Bernie moved to California and made it his home for fifteen years. He met and married Nona Jean Swanson of Elmonte, California. To their union they had four beloved children, Jeff, Mark, Bernie and Katie. He then moved to Gillette, Wyoming and worked for Exxon and Peabody Coal Mines as a heavy equipment operator for thirty years before retiring in 2003. After retiring, he spent his summer at his home in Douglas, Wyoming and the winter at his home in Lake Havasue, Arizona.

Bernie loved being with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time at the lake in the mountains, camping, fishing, elk hunting and just sitting around the campfire enjoying nature. He loved riding his Harley also. But coming home to his roots for the annual family reunion meant so much to him.

Bernie is survived by his four children, Jeff of Casper, Wyoming, Mark of Evansville, Wyoming, Bernie of Evansville, Wyoming, Katie Chase Sansoucie of Douglas, Wyoming, nine adored grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, Jasmine, Brandy, Kylie, Tierney, Lawson, Mark Jr., Sadie and one great grandson. He is also survived by his siblings, two brothers Bill Sansoucie and wife Marvana of Bismarck, Arkansas, Lindell Sansoucie and wife Gladys of Casper, Wyoming, three sisters, Elaine Rundel and husband Jim of Festus, Missouri, Debbie Phipps and husband Jerry of Potosi, Missouri, Garlyn Kirby and husband Jimmy of Potosi, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bernie was preceded in death by his parents and one brother John Gary Sansoucie.

Bernie was cremated and brought back to Wyoming where there was a memorial service held at Gormans Funeral Home in Douglas, Wyoming. His last wishes was to be brought back home where he is to be buried with his parents at Saint Joachim Cemetery in Old Mines, Missouri.

A memorial mass will be held on June 10, 2013 at 11 AM at the Saint Joachim Catholic Church with Father Ted Pieper and Father Jim Hanson officiating.
