Edward Allen

Edward Allen, of Bonne Terre, Missouri, departed this earth on September 3, 2008, at his residence, having reached the age of 77 years 11 months and 18 days. Edward was born in Potosi, Missouri, on September 16, 1930, a son of the late Charles Allen and Minnie Black Allen.

On November 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Clarice Eye at Potosi, Missouri. There was one child born to that union, Cindy (Allen) Asher. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather; a dear brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was ordained as a Baptist Minister in August of 1973. The family requests Memorials may be made in memory of Ed Allen to Tucker McDowell, son of Zac and Ren? McDowell.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Vincent Allen and a sister-in-law June Allen.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his beloved wife Clarice Allen of Bonne Terre; a daughter Cindy Asher and husband Brian of Bonne Terre; four grandchildren Chrissy Caron and husband, Jesse of Potosi, Caleb Gerrish, Justin Asher, and Jason Asher; one great grandchild Kavan Caron; an aunt, Fannie Black; two cousins, Sadie McMahn and Mary Ann Summers; a beloved church family and many other friends that will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted at the Breton Creek Baptist Church on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 1pm, with Rev. Don Burke and Rev. Jonathan Jones officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Paul Eye, Gervis Eye, Bud Eye, Dean Lounsbery, Harry Carlyon and Dale Franklin. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Justin Asher, Caleb Gerrish and Jason Asher.
