Dorthey Lee Schuler of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on May 10, 2014 at her residence having reached the age of eighty nine years, five months and eleven days. She was born on November 29, 1924 in Mineral Point, Missouri a daughter to the late Henry Jolly and Irene (Cain) Jolly.
In addition to her parents, Dorthey was preceded in death by her son Roger Price, daughter Lorrane Kay Boyer, brother Bernard Jolly and sisters Pat Garner, Gladys Warren and Ethie Lefridge.
Dorthey enjoyed gardening, sewing, chopping wood, fishing and even enjoyed a good plug of chew. She loved being with her family and spent many hours praying.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are one daughter Diane Peirce of Mineral Point; one son Henry Boyer and wife Shirley of Mineral Point; eight grandchildren Shawn, Samuel, Toby, Amy, Bridgett, Angie, Chasity, Sherry; nineteen great grandchildren; thirteen great great grandchildren; special niece Elaine Boyer and Marvin Bud of Old Mines; special ex-granddaughter Linda East and husband Graylan of Bonne Terre; adopted daughter Kathy Sheldon and husband Willy of Mineral Point; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 10 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Sandy Gamble officiating and Elder Leonard Compton assisting. Serving as pallbearers were granddaughters Amy Boyer, Angie Gibson, Chasity Jarvis, Sherry DeClue, Jamie Kanan and Ariel Nicholes. Honorary pallbearer Bridgett Boyer.
Interment and final prayers were held at New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
