Dorothy Jane Wilson of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on July 2, 2009 at the St. Johns Mercy Medical Center having reached the age of seventy six years, five months and twenty four days. She was born on January 8, 1933 a daughter to Virginia McMahon Dickinson and the late Ray Thomas Dickinson.
On June 16, 1956, Dorothy was united in marriage to Donald Wilson and they shared fifty three years together.
Our mom loved and served the Lord. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Potosi, Missouri. She was a devoted mother to her children and was a dear wife. She always put her family before herself. She was a great teacher. She taught her daughters how to sew, cook and take care of a home. She taught and showed us unconditional love. She always guided us to forgive. She loved being apart of nature. She loved being around flowers, gardens, and creeks.
She always found beauty in everything. Even when Dorothy was sick, she kept positive outlook on life. She endured many hardships with a positive attitude. She never forgot any ones birthday or anniversary. She always treated her children and grandchildren all the same. Dorothy?s love was truly demonstrated by each life she touched.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life are her husband Donald Wilson of Potosi; mother Virginia Dickinson; son Jan Kevin Wilson and wife Marylyn of Potosi; two daughters Roxanne Crippen and husband Mike of Cadet; Dawn Rasnic and husband Mark of Desoto; five brothers Don Dickinson and wife June of Mineral Point; Jean Dickinson and wife Virginia of Mineral Point; Bill Dickinson and wife Rita of Purdon, Texas; Walter Dickinson of Festus; Bobby Dickinson of Arnold; sister Becky Dickinson of Mineral Point; eight grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 6, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Bobby Brown officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Ryan Chamberlain, Joshua Rasnic, Ian Wilson, Sean Wilson, Elijah Wilson and Caleb Crippen.
Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
