Dorothy Sappington

February 9, 1925 — January 5, 2013

Dorothy Alice Sappington of St. Charles, Missouri departed this life on January 5, 2013 at the National Health Care of St. Charles having reached the age of eighty seven years, ten months and twenty seven days. She was born on February 9, 1925 in Potosi, Missouri a daughter to the late John Puckett and Anna Mae (Kelso) Puckett.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband Willard Lee Copeland and a son Gary Copeland.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are her husband William Sappington of St. Charles; son Larry Copeland of Orlando, Florida; two daughters Sandra (Larry) Creasy of Overland, Missouri; Leota (William) Eatherton of O'Fallon, Missouri; brother Robert (Sharon) Puckett of Potosi; two sisters Velma Copeland of O'Fallon, Missouri; Anna Mae Shomo of O'Fallon, Missouri; six grandchildren Larry Creasy, Jr., Mathew Creasy, Craig Copeland, Kimberly VanHoye, Carrie Felderwerth, William Eatherton, III; eleven great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 1 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Creasy, Jr. officiating. Serving as pallbearers were William Eatherton, Scott VanHoye, Mathew Creasy, Craig Copeland, Patrick Felderwerth and John Creasy.

Interment and prayers were held at the New Masonic Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
