Dorothy Pruitt

October 15, 1941 — January 14, 2011

Dorothy Helen Pruitt of Blackwell, Missouri departed this life on January 14, 2011 at the St. Anthony’s Medical Center having reached the age of sixty nine years, two months and thirty days. She was born on October 15, 1941 at Kingston, Missouri a daughter to the late Thomas D. Sampson and Hazel D. (Warden) Sampson.

On November 2, 1957, Dorothy was united in marriage to Walter Pruitt and they shared fifty three years together.

Dorothy was a member of the St. Stephens Catholic Church of Richwoods and was a member of the PTA/PTO.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a granddaughter Shana Pruitt.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are her husband Walter Pruitt of Blackwell, two daughters Cheryl Ross and husband Tom of Cadet, Angeline Guenther of Blackwell; three sons Stephen Pruitt and wife Debora of Blackwell, Tracy Pruitt and best friend Jess Martin of Cadet, Boyd Pruitt and wife Danielle of Desoto; two sisters Eva Bernice Boyer and husband Wilburn of Blackwell, Mildred Martin and husband Ray of Richwoods; two brothers Ronald Sampson and wife Debora of Desoto, Thomas Sampson and wife Rebecca of Desoto; eight grandchildren Jamie Adams, Janell Douglas, Shaun Ross, Melissa Daniels, Christopher Pruitt, Billey Guenther, Brienna East, Quaid Pruitt; eight great grandchildren Destiny, Elijah, Skyler, Anna, Raven, Noah, Lexi and Karmen; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

A memorial service was held Monday, January 17, 2011 at 6:30 PM with Natalie Villmer officiating.

All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
