Dorothy Jenkins

Dorothy Irene Jenkins of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on January 13, 2012 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of ninety years, six months and nineteen days. She was born on June 25, 1921 a daughter to the late Harry Allen and Mamie (Huitt) Allen.

Dorothy accepted the Lord as her Savior when she was fourteen years old.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Dewey Jenkins; son Orville Jenkins; three brothers Floyd Allen, Webb Allen, Virgil Allen; three sisters Hazel Lewis, Florence Jarvis and infant sister Eunice Allen.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are her six daughters Mary Catherine Brown and husband Raymond of Oakland, Arkansas; Patsy Darlene Dane of Hillsboro; Geraldine Allen and husband William of Maryland; Bernell Glassey and husband Dale of Potosi; Marcia Myers of Hillsboro; Pamela Timmerman and husband Alan of Pacific; three sons Jerry Jenkins of Belgrade; Joseph Jenkins and wife Diann of Caledonia; George Jenkins of Gerald; two sisters Mildred Sparks of St. Louis; Gladys Hodge of Otto; nineteen grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Mike Jarvis officiating and Elder Leonard Compton assisting. Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Jenkins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
