Dorothy "Dot" M. O'Neail of Potosi, Missouri passed away on July 22, 2016 at her residence having reached the age of eighty six years. She was born on April 24, 1930, in Bonne Terre, a daughter to the late Thomas Dodson and the late Katie (Lore) Dodson.
Dot is survived by her nine children: Edward O’Neail and wife Joyce of Irondale, Monte O’Neail and wife Linda of Doe Run, Terry O’Neail of Ellington, Dennis O’Neail of Wonewoc, Wisconsin, Bryan O’Neail and wife Colleen of Apache Junction, Arizona, Marty O’Neail and wife Malisa of Potosi, Debra O’Neail of Potosi, Karen Garrison and husband Steve of Troup, Texas, and Tracy O’Neail of Potosi; also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Dot is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph A. O’Neail; son, Roger O’Neail; six brothers: Robert Dodson, Curtis Dodson, Thomas Dodson, Leon Dodson, Charles Dodson, and William Dodson; three sisters: Aleen Politte, Virginia Thurman, and Alberta Lamkey; and half-sister, Gladys Jewel.
Dot was a member of the Pentecostal church. She loved sewing, reading her Bible, and working crossword puzzles. Dot also enjoyed listening to her radio/police scanner and growing flowers and plants. Above all, she loved being with her family. Dot was a prayer warrior always praying for others. She always put everyone else before herself. Dot looked forward to Sunday afternoon dinners, and making large meals for her family. She was a loving and devoted wife.
Visitation for Dorothy was held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, beginning at 10:00 AM. A funeral service began at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Lloyd O’Neail officiating.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Hopewell Cemetery. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
