Doris Mae Vick, of Mineral Point, Missouri, was born on August 29, 1940 at Belgrade, Missouri, a daughter to the late Manuel and Frances (Wade) Marler. Doris went to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, March 7th, 2024 from Mercy Hospital Jefferson at the age of 83.
On May 4, 1957, Doris was united in marriage to the love of her life, Edward Lee Vick and four children were born to this union. Doris was a longtime member of Hopewell Church of God where she loved attending when she was in good health. Doris thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of nature, being outdoors, and going for walks. Doris especially loved walking to Clear Creek. Doris had a green thumb and enjoyed planting flowers all over her yard. A fond memory her grandchildren recall was the walks they took with their “Granny Dot” through the yard looking at her flowers and singing "I have decided to follow Jesus". In early years, Doris traveled with Ed to different states, going to parks. Among the many places they traveled, the Smokies was one of her favorites. Doris loved reading her Bible and most recently, working crossword puzzles. Doris has left a legacy of love, faith and strength behind for her family to carry on.
Those who remain to treasure her memory include her daughter, Bobbi Farley; three sons: Eddie Vick (wife, Donna), Tony Vick (wife, Karen) and Marty Vick; siblings: Bill Marler (wife, Mary Lou), Donnie Marler (wife, Wanda), Faye Portell, and Leta Skiles; and sister-in-law, Louise Williams; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
