Doris Crocker-Lawson

Doris Margaret Lawson of Potosi, Missouri, was born on January 12, 1935 in Palmer, Missouri, a daughter of the late Alonzo and Hazel (Martin) Nipper. Her faith was made sight on July 1, 2024, having reached the age of 89.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her children: Jerry Crocker (wife, Kathy), Rick Crocker, Jimmy Crocker (wife, Jessie), and Scott Crocker; grandchildren: Tony (Laura) Crocker, Eutonia Bilderback, Shawnta (Amanda) Crocker, Chris (Chelsea) Crocker, Kyle (Cyle) Crocker, Heather (Curt) Opsahl, Marissa Crocker, Skyann (John) Michael, Sarah Crocker (fiancé, Jacob Jernigan), Jacob Crocker, Joseph Crocker, Ruth Crocker, Jasmine Crocker and Trenton Mackley; great-grandchildren: Lindsey (Hayden), Mackenzie (Kaleb), Ann Avery, Isaac, Ethan, Elissa, Milton, Troy, Alonzo, Gabriella, Zola, Brittany (Cody), Symphony (Lane), Ethan, Cannon, Charlie, Anna Beth, Deegan, Katelynn, Hailey, Chevy, Jasper, Zander, and Carter; siblings: Larry Nipper (wife, Colleen), Bob Nipper (wife, Carlene); daughter-in-law, Betsy Crocker; in-laws: Ed James, Ardell Gray, CeAnn Nipper, and Harry Harter.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Crocker; second husband, Espin Lawson; son, Terry Crocker; three grandchildren: Nathan and Crystal Crocker, and April (Crocker) Cantrell; great-granddaughter, Emilie Skiles; great-grandson, Jayden; daughter-in-law, Sharon (Heath) Crocker; siblings: Alvin Nipper (wife, Ruth Ann), Bonnie Senter (husband, Bob), Bill Nipper, Linda Harter, Shirley Gray, and Cathy James.

Doris was a long-time member of Ozark Heights Missionary Baptist Church, and loved the Lord greatly. She loved listening to gospel music, especially the Gaither’s. Doris enjoyed flowers, and working in her flower garden, quilting, painting, and baking sweets. She would often look forward to spending time with her family; and in the past, traveling and fishing with them. When she would tell a story, she often told ones about Palmer.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 11 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Service at 2 p.m., held at DeClue Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Tony Crocker. Interment and final prayers will be held in the Redbud Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Potosi.
