Donnie Crocker

August 14, 1939 — July 11, 2014

Donnie Howard Crocker of Desloge, Missouri departed this life on July 11, 2014 at his residence having reached the age of seventy four years, ten months and twenty seven days. He was born on August 14, 1939 in Washington County, Missouri a son to the late James Ward Crocker and Zola (Clements) Crocker.
Bro. Donnie was in the mining industry for over twenty years where he earned several safety awards. He surrendered to the Lord's call as a minister and has preached at the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church for many years. Bro. Donnie was most proud to have been able to baptize all four of his grandchildren. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, playing ball games with his family working and cleaning in his garage, which up until his final days on earth he still did. If one showed up at Bro. Donnie's house and he was not there, you could always find him at McDonalds. He loved his family, church family and friends very much and will be dearly missed.
Donnie is survived by two daughters Vickie Whelehon and husband Dale of Leadwood, Debbie Lawson and fiancé Mark Ames of Irondale; three sisters Aileen Lawson and husband James of Park Hills, Betty Warden and husband George of Potosi, Marie Summers of Gray Summit; four grandchildren Chris Crocker, Corey Whelehon and wife Kayla, Sarah Huff and husband Anthony, Chelsea Lawson; many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Crocker, six brothers Roy Lee, Aaron, William "Bill", Edward, Perry and Oliver Crocker, great granddaughter Charlie Huff and a brother in law Boyd Summers.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 2 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Chris Crocker, Corey Whelehon, Mark Ames, Anthony Huff, David Warden, Tony Lawson, Keith Summers and Randy Crocker.
Interment and final prayers were held at White Oak Grove Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
