Donald Fredrick Salzmann of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on October 29, 2016, having reached the age of eighty six years, two months, and twenty two days. He was born on August 7, 1930, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son to the late Fredrick Henry Salzmann and the late Norma Johanna (Schmidt) Salzmann.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Lois (Blatt) Salzmann of Potosi; two sons: Christian Salzmann of Overland Park, Kansas; John Salzmann and wife Cyndy of Omaha, Nebraska, and daughter, Anne Otto and husband Ken of Clarkson Valley, Missouri; sister, Shirley Burkholder of Munroe Falls, Ohio; twelve grandchildren: Amanda Warden Prince (John), Emily Warden Maine (Jedidiah) Katelyn Salzmann, Elise Salzmann Simoneau (Casey), Andrew Salzmann, Clarice Salzmann, Fredrick Salzmann (Danielle), Elizabeth Salzmann, Anna Salzmann, Christian Otto, Hannah Otto, and Allison Otto; great grandchildren: Hutson and Anselm; Kinsley, Adelie and Stella; Jack; dear nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Salzmann Warden; and daughter-in-law, Valerie Hutson Salzmann.
A memorial visitation for Donald will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the DeClue Funeral Home, beginning at 11:00 AM.
A memorial service will begin at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Lutheran World Release at www.lwr.org or the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
