Donald ?Soup Bone? Gene Riddle of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on January 5, 2009 at his residence having reached the age of seventy five years, nine months and five days. He was born on March 31, 1933 a son to the late Less Riddle and Grace Glore Riddle.
?Soup Bone? served in the United States Army for two years. He was a member of the Potosi Southern Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Leman Riddle, Carl Riddle, Marvin Riddle; three sisters Nellie Hill Nelma Panhorst and Margie Talley.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life is his sister Norma Green and husband Raymond; sister in law Bessie Riddle; his life long friend Charlene DeGonia; extended family Karen Benson and husband John; adoptive grand daughters Emilee Benson, Hanna Benson, Jennifer Benson; Joy and Jackie and any other friends who thought of ?Soup Bone? as their grandfather.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 10 AM at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Wayne Isgriggs officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Kenny Riddle, Allen Riddle, Mike Riddle, Lynn DeGonia, Joe Degonia, and Jason Wells.
Interment and final prayers were held at Redbud Memorial. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
