Donald Gene "Duke" Dickinson was born on June 8, 1957 in Farmington, Missouri, a son to Donald R. Dickinson and June (Smith) Dickinson. Duke entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 13, 2016 having reached the age of fifty nine years, five months and five days.
On November 27, 1976, Duke was united in marriage to Pauline Johnson and two sons were born to this union.
Duke is survived by his two sons, Gregory Scott Dickinson and wife Pamela of Farmington and Matthew Cory Dickinson and wife Ariel of South County St. Louis; loving parents, Donald R. and June Dickinson of Mineral Point; two sisters, Mary Pinson and husband Joe of Park Hills and Nova Drennen and husband Rick of Mineral Point; two brothers, Gary Dickinson and wife Loretta of Mineral Point and Roger "Dink" Dickinson and wife Tammy of Mineral Point; two grandchildren Heather and Kelton Dickinson; also surviving are nieces, nephews relatives and dear friends.
Duke was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ralph and Henrietta Smith and paternal grandparents Ray Thomas and Virginia B. Dickinson.
Duke professed his faith in Christ at a young age and recently rededicated his heart to the Lord and was baptized by his son Greg. Duke loved riding his motorcycle, his Jack Russell Terriers, his sons, grandchildren and family. He liked building things out of wood in his workshop, hunting and fishing. Duke was always willing to help anyone out and he never met a stranger. He loved to tease his sisters, sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law and his granddaughter. He enjoyed collecting arrowheads and any outdoor activities. Duke loved the yearly Super Bowl party with his sons and friends. He always rooted for the underdog team, no matter who they were. He led a simple life, no frills and loved it. Duke will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 9:00 am until 11:00 AM.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM held at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dale Stringer officiating.
