Dexter Paul Butler of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on September 5, 2006 at his residence, having reached the age of 65 years, 2 months and 1 day. He was born on July 4, 1941 at Colinwood, Tennessee, a son of Andy Butler and the late Carlene Melton Butler.
In addition to his mother, Dexter was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Huff. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his wife, Carolyn; his father, Andy Butler and wife, Scarlett of Lemay; two daughters, Sherry Crisel and husband Walnut of Lemay, and Kim Huff and husband Mike of Bonne Terre; a son Dwayne Butler of Mineral Point; a brother, Larry Butler and wife Karen of St. Louis; four grandchildren; Amy Hartke, Deliana Butler, Dexter Butler, and Andrea Huff; two great grandchildren, Alyssa Cervera and Dreighdran Harvell; nieces; nephews; cousins; aunts; uncles and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, September 8, 2006 at 10 AM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Father Jim French officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Walnut Crisel, Tim Brand, Mike Huff, Chris Bailey, Terry Williams, Mike Trokey George Bedwell, Mike Pickett and Brian Williams.
Interment and final prayers were held at Butler Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
