Destrya "Dessi" Chandler

Destrya Lynn Chandler, also lovingly known as "Dessi", of Potosi, Missouri, was born on January 8, 1967 in Potosi, Missouri, a daughter of the late Jesse Darrell Chandler and Tiffany (Wirfel) Chandler. Dessi was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, April 29, 2024, having reached the age of 57.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her children: Kenny Owens, Shirley Nash; grandchildren: Josh, Jordan, Cierra, Jade, Sirus; great-grandson, Damon Peck; siblings: Vincent Chandler, Diane Wade, LaDonna chandler, Chris Foster, Victor Foster; special cousins: Rhonda Brawley, and Billie Bourbon. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Dessi was preceded in death by her father and stepmother JD & Carlene Chandler; mother, Tiffany Chandler; brother, Tony Foster; and sister-in-law, Donna Chandler.

Dessi was a proud member of Hopewell Church of God and loved the Lord with all of her heart. She enjoyed serving at her church being a door greeter, always having the biggest smile on her face, cooking, delivering food to people, and praying for people. She was an amazing mother and grandmother, and enjoyed going road riding with her family. She was Shirley's best friend and she will miss her greatly. Dessi loved her dog, Bruiser, who was a constant companion to her. She was kind, forgiving, and caring to everyone she met. Most importantly, she was a courageous and devoted daughter of Christ.

A Memorial Visitation will be Friday, May 3, 2024, from 9 a.m. until the time of her Memorial Service at 11 a.m., held at Hopewell Church of God in Potosi, Missouri. Pastor Sam Mosier will officiate her service, assisted by Rev. Jim Wade.
