Derel Stevens

Derel Lee Stevens of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on May 26, 2009 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of forty one years, four months and seven days. He was born on January 19, 1968 a son to Gloria Marshall Stevens and the late Billie L. Stevens.

On June 30, 1989, Derel was united in marriage to Melissa Horton and they shared almost twenty years together.

In addition to his father, Derel was preceded in death by his mother in law Sandra Wesa.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life are wife Melissa Stevens of Potosi; son Lehman Stevens of Potosi; mother Gloria Stevens of St. Louis; sister Amy Van Doren and husband Paul of Olney, Illinois; two brothers Scott Stevens of St. Louis; Derek Stevens and wife Terry of St. Louis; Father in law V.L. ?Skip? Horton of St. Charles; two brothers in law Alex Wesa of Desloge; Nicholas Wesa of Illinois; grandson Brayden Stevens of Potosi; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, May 29, 2009 at 1 PM at the DeClue Family Chapel with Rev. Jim Wade officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Jeff Horton, Doug Bills, Alex Wesa, Stu Stevens, Ryan Marshall, Greg Durham, John Conhon, Pat McCalister and Mike Henson. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Van Doren, Scott Stevens, Derek Stevens, Wade Rose, Gary Marshall, Corey Walker and Dean Marshall.

Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
