Dennis Skiles

March 28, 1951 — December 11, 2006

Dennis Eugene Skiles of Cadet, Missouri departed this life on December 11, 2006 at St. John?s Mercy Medical Center having reached the age of 55 years, 8 months and 13 days. He died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born at Potosi, Missouri on March 28, 1951, a son of Marie (Lawson) Skiles and the late Sterling Arthur Skiles, Jr.

In September, 1970, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Rose Smith and to that union two daughters were born. Marilyn preceded him in death. He later married Vicki Gullett in 1993.

In addition to his father and first wife, Dennis was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Politte and a granddaughter, Ashly Dawn
Emily.

Dennis loved to work on cars and bar-be-que for family and friends. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He never met a stranger. He will be sadly missed by his family, many friends, and, of course, the girls at Hoots.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his mother, Marie Skiles of Cadet; his estranged wife, Vicki Skiles of Potosi; two daughters, Denise Marie Eckhoff and husband Larry of Cadet; Brandy Jo Jones and husband Lance of Potosi; very special friend, Teresa Warren of Cadet; two brothers, Arthur Lee Skiles and wife Carolyn of Cadet, James Melvin Skiles and wife Mary of Potosi; two sisters, Barbara Jo Null and husband Mel of Cadet, Shelba Jean Benson and husband Lonnie of Kirkwood; four grandchildren, Aril Emily, Dennis Emily, Casey Jones and Marilyn Fay Jones; a special friend Bobby Emily; father-in-law, Tom Gullett; three stepchildren, Tabitha, Tonya and Becky; nieces; nephews; cousins; aunts; uncles and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, December 15, 2006 at 2 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Robert Thurman officiating. Serving as pallbearers were

Interment and final prayers were held at New Diggins Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Poto
