Delores Fern Henry of Potosi, Missouri, was born on May 14, 1934 in Shirley, Missouri, a daughter of the late Paul J. Hawkins and the late Latta (Compton) Hawkins.
Delores entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 28, 2016 having reached the age of eighty two years, five months and fourteen days.
On August 26, 1955, Delores was united in marriage to Jack Dale Henry and there were three children born to this union.
Delores, Aunt Lorsey as she's known her nieces and nephews is survived by son Jackie "Jay" Henry, Jr. of Sullivan, Missouri, daughter Robin Vance of Clarkston, Washington, and son Lloyd Henry of St. Louis; one sister Thelma Blair of Mineral Point; sister-in-law Jerry Henry Collins of Cuba, Missouri.
"Nan" is also survived by four grandchildren Caleb Griffin and wife Kelly, Tyler Henry, Cody Henry and wife Tammy, Clayton Eli Vance and wife Ashley; eight great grandchildren Garrett, Dillon, Jaiden Lee, Kinsley Lynn, Levi Jackson, Ella Kate, Zoe and Logan; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends who will miss her.
In addition to her father and mother, Delores was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack Henry; three brothers Ward Paul Hawkins, Stanley Hawkins, Obie Hawkins; sister Norma Banning; infant sister Betty Hawkins and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Harold Delmar "Jack" and Mildred M. "Polly" Henry.
Delores, a very strong, independent lady loved Colorado, old barns, gardening, her quilts, and was a lifelong member of Lakewood Baptist Church where she loved worshipping her Lord. Many area residents were served by Delores at Dr. Edward Lake's office for many, many years.
Visitation for Delores was held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service was conducted on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Lakewood Baptist Church with her Uncle, Elder Leonard Compton officiating assisted by Rev. Alva Enloe.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Lakewood Cemetery, Shirley, Missouri.
