Delores Faye Eckhoff, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grand, peacefully left this world on December 7, 2024, in Mineral Point, Missouri, at the age of 84. Born on December 20, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Rose (Lee) Politte. Faye lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will continue to resonate within her family.
Faye was not only a devoted family member but also a woman deeply rooted in her faith. She loved the Lord, finding solace and guidance in her Bible. Her faith was paramount in her life, shaping her character and the way she embraced those around her. Faye's gentle spirit and warm heart endeared her to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Faye had many passions that brought her joy. She cherished taking peaceful rides along country roads, where she could soak in the beauty of nature. Her love for old gospel music was profound; she found great joy in watching programs featuring Jimmy Swaggart and Benny Hinn. Faye was also an enthusiastic gardener; she took pride in growing her own vegetables and spent many happy hours canning them. Storytelling was another passion, as she loved sharing tales from her early years, enriching the hearts of her family with treasured recollections.
Her family was the cornerstone of her life. Faye married the love of her life, Howard Eckhoff, and together they shared an incredible bond that became a source of inspiration for their loved ones. She found the greatest joy when surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her proudest accomplishments were rooted in the love she nurtured within her family, creating a legacy of love that will be remembered for generations.
Faye leaves behind her loving son Michael Eckhoff & Becky, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Tracy Haws & Wayne, Jessica Blair & Scottie, and Alicia Alvers & Mike. She also adored her great-grandchildren: Dylan, Hannah, Peyton, Jacob, Kailey, Kloe, Sophia, Macyn, Sawyer, Olivia, Emmitt, and Anastasia; great-great-grandchildren, Miles, and Carter. Faye is further survived by her son-in-law Greg Riddle and other dear family members who will continue to honor her memory.
She rejoins in eternal rest her beloved husband, Howard Eckhoff; her daughters Lisa Eckhoff and Debbie Riddle; her grandson Scott Eckhoff; and her siblings David Politte and Cleda Mayfield, alongside her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Mandy Eckhoff.
Faye's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, faith, and traditions that fostered close ties among her family and friends. Her spirit will remain alive in the memories of the countless family dinners, holiday gatherings, and the memories made throughout her life.
Faye's visitation will be held at DeClue Family Funeral Home in Potosi, MO on December 12, 2024, from 5 PM to 8 PM, and again on December 13, 2024, from 9 AM to 11 AM, culminating in her funeral service at 11 AM, followed by a celebration of her beautiful life.
Delores Faye Eckhoff will always be remembered, not just as a family matriarch, but as a beacon of love and joy whose legacy will continue to shine through the hearts she touched.
