Delois James

Delois Faye James of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on April 21, 2014 at the St. Joe Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of seventy eight years, eleven months and twelve days. She was born on May 9, 1935 in Lewisville, Texas a daughter to the late Harvey Lee Sprabary and Flossy (Bilbry) Sprabary.
In addition to her parents, Delois was preceded in death by her husband Giles Edward "Jim" James, sister Viola Mathis, brothers Travis Sprabary, Abe Sprabary, Newell "Coon" Sprabary, Arthur "Reo" Sprabary, Vernon Sprabary, grandson Ryan Fowler and great granddaughters Hailey James and Brittney Lai.
Delois James, known as "Dot" by her family and loved ones will be greatly missed. She loved her family and protected us with strength and courage. A contented homemaker, she went about her daily tasks singing "Elvis" tunes, "Strangers in the night" or some other tune in the day, and there wasn't a stain she could not get out of a child's clothes. She taught most of the children in the family how to throw a football or baseball and she certainly could show you how to catch a fish. If only we could go back to the days we spent camping in Missouri and Oklahoma and the all-night fishing trips on the creek in Texas with her, my father and all the family. We will have to get by with the memory of Easter picnics with egg hunts, Thanksgiving days spent eating good food and listening to her tell her favorite team the Dallas Cowboys what they should have done on the last play. Mom has finished her time here on earth and quietly slipped away. Now she resides in Heaven where I'm sure she and my father and many loved ones who have gone on before have already spent time on some heavenly creek fishing and remembering all the good times with family. God will someday call each of us home one by one but, for now we must wait and remember the good life she lived and how she touched each of our lives in such a loving way. We must be content in the knowledge that we will see her again someday.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her son David Wayne James and wife Rhonda of Lewisville, Texas; daughter Susan Haderlein and husband Darryl of Potosi; brothers Jack Sprabary and wife Janet of Farmers Branch, Texas, James Sprabary and wife Rose of Odessa Texas; sister Pat Wilson and husband Ancil of Lewisville, Texas; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville, Texas.
All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
