Delma Margaret McMahon was born on March 30, 1927, a daughter of the late Dewey Doss and the late Katheryn (Merritt) Doss. On March 20, 1948, Delma was united in marriage to Walter Harold McMahon. Delma went to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 having reached ninety-one years of age.
In addition to her parents, Delma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Harold McMahon; grandson, Jason Lee Wright; brother and sister-in-law, Hugo and Alberta Doss; and special friend, John Lagrand.
Survivors include her three daughters: Judy (Marvin) Wright, Jo Ann McMahon, and Janet (Michael) Hogan; seven grandchildren: Michael (Jamie) Wright, Julie (Norman) Toth, Cristy (Tim) Pini, Johnny Waller, Joshua Waller and fiancé Jenna Freeman, Chelsea (Nick) Reed, and Sara (Patrick) Daut; granddaughter-in-law, Brandie Wright; great-grandchildren: Kaleb Politte, Katie Toth, Maddie Toth, Lauren Toth, Alaina Wright, Patrick Wright, Ian Wright, Devon Wiley, Cheyenne Snowdell and fiancé Tommy Haberland, Serena Belt, Zachary Pini, Jacob Waller, Paige Waller, Hope Waller, Hunter Waller, Kaiden Smith, Aribella Reed, Alexander Daut, and Bradley Daut; and one great-great grandson, Otto Haberland. Also surviving are special family friends: Sue Watson, Tim and Karen Golden, Ron and Sandy Komlos, and Johnny and Sherri Lagrand. Delma also leaves behind many other friends who were also very dear to her.
Delma had a love of life, family, friends and her hobbies, which included gardening, cooking, sewing, word search puzzles and traveling. She doted on her parents, quitting school to help support her family. She married Walter McMahon in 1948 and together they raised three daughters and shared 51 years of marriage. The family grew to eventually include grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild, all providing enormous delight. After her husband passed in 1999, she met the second love of her life, John LaGrand. He was her companion for 17 years until his passing in 2017. Delma was a beautiful lady, inside and out. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., held at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Saturday, February 9, 2019, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
A funeral service to honor Delma will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Rev. Sue Watson officiating assisted by Elder Mike Jarvis. Interment and final prayers will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
