Debra Lynch

Debra Marie Lynch of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on June 15, 2012 at the Parkland Health Center having reached the age of fifty nine years, five months and ten days. She was born on January 5, 1953 in Pekin, Illinois a daughter to Ivanelle (Shriver) Lynch and the late Edward Lynch.

Debra graduated from Pekin High School and then got her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas and her Masters Degree at Northern Colorado University in Greenly, Colorado and her Specialists Degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. Debra had been a teacher for thirty six years in the Potosi School District, working with special needs children. Early in her career, she taught at American Fork, Utah and while teaching in Utah, joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Debra was very active in her church and school programs. She was instrumental in developing several major grants for the Potosi School District to further educate the special needs/disabled children.

In addition to her father, Debra was preceded in death by her ward Roberta (Bobbi) Sue Adkins.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are her mother Ivanelle Lynch of Pekin, Illinois, aunts and uncles, and a host of other special school and church friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 2 PM at the DeClue Chapel under the direction of the Potosi Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Branch President Kenneth Allred officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Glen Montgomery, William Montgomery, Benjamin Montgomery, Tom Pezel, 2 LDS Missionaries, Mike Snow and Jerome Cooper.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Missouri School for the Blind.
