Debra Lynn Cawley

Debra Lynn (Schutz) Cawley, known affectionately as Debbie, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on June 1, 1956, in St. Clair, Illinois, she was the daughter of Ernest Schutz and Geraldine Mildred (Christopher) Schutz.

Debbie's life was defined by her warmth, generosity, and dedication to her family. She is survived by her cherished daughter, Heather Baumgartner, and her husband, Troy. Debbie also leaves behind two special nephews, Michael Schutz and his wife, Amanda, and Travis Schutz and his wife, Angie, along with additional nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss her kindness and love.

In addition to Debbie's parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert M. Cawley, who brought joy and companionship to her life; and her three siblings: Sue LaChance, Thomas Schutz Sr., and James Schutz. 

Debbie found joy in tending to the beautiful flowers in her yard as well as antique shopping, activities that reflected her eye for beauty. For approximately 20 years, she resided on Potosi Lake, a location that was dear to her heart. Her love for the water was evident, as she enjoyed countless moments spent there with her family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Debbie attended Bible Missionary Church in Park Hills, Missouri. 

A visitation to honor Debbie's memory will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 10 AM until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 AM. Her family invites all who knew her to join in celebrating her life and the impact she made on those around her. Debbie will be laid to rest at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. 

Debbie will be remembered for her caring spirit, her smile, and the love she generously shared with everyone she met. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to DeClue Funeral Home.
