David Laws

David Otto Laws of St. Genevieve, Missouri, entered into eternal rest Monday, October 7, 2024, having reached the age of 86 years. He was born on October 7, 1938, to the late Burl and Ida (Vandergriff) Laws.

David was a man of many talents; one could even say he was a “jack of all trades.” Whether climbing a ladder to install a new roof or tinkering with a broken item, his hands were never idle. He was also a gifted guitar and dobro musician. Those who knew him would surely say that David was nothing short of a hard worker. His family best described him as a man who was determined to accomplish that which he had his mind set to do.

David leaves behind his wife of twenty-six years, Freda Laws; his children: Wayne Laws, Larry Laws, Susan Laws Kurtz (Patrick); step-children: Scott Ball (Emerald) and David Ball (Laura). David also leaves behind siblings, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, David is also preceded in death by his son, Eric Laws.

No services will be held. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
