David Evans

July 27, 1948 — December 5, 2009

David Lee Evans of Potosi, Missouri, formerly of Columbus Junction, Iowa departed this life on December 5, 2009 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of sixty one years, four months and eight days. He was born on July 27, 1948 at Muscatine, Iowa a son to Delmore Evans and Laverta (Dicks) Evans.

Dave served in the United States Air Force from 1967 ? 1971, serving three years in Tacoma, WA.

Dave was employed for thirty five years in the telecommunications field. He was a fan of NASCAR races and enjoyed showing his 1970 Chevelle at car shows throughout the Midwest where he won many trophies. He was a member of the Potosi Masonic Lodge and a member of the American Legion of Iowa.

On April 17, 1992, Dave married Sandy Schrum and they shared seventeen years together.

Dave accepted the Lord as his Savior and became a member of the Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church, Mineral Point, MO. He was baptized November 28, 2009 by Pastor Claude Evans.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife Sandy Evans of Potosi; parents Delmore Evans and Laverta Evans of Iowa; son Chad Evans of Iowa City, Iowa; three daughters Annissa Evans of Phoenix, Arizona, Aimee Miner and husband Michael of Potosi; Katie Coleman of St. Louis; two brothers Dennis Evans and wife Melody of Bozeman, Montana; Danny Evans and wife Cyndie of Muscatine, Iowa; his niece Betsy Duffy and her husband Marty of Oskaloosa, Iowa, nephew Andrew Evans of Rock Island, Illinois.

A Memorial Service was held on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 11 AM at the Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church.

All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
