Darren Roland Young Sr.

Darren Roland Young Sr., born on December 4, 1959, in Farmington, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024. He was the proud son of the late Robert "Bob" Young and Carmen (Horton) Young. In addition to his parent, Darren was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Avon and Nellie (McCarron) Horton.

Darren's love for woodworking became a hallmark of his character, as he spent countless hours creating beautiful pieces of furniture for his family. This hobby was not just a pastime; it was a testament to his dedication and love. He took immense pleasure in the art of crafting, and his works will be treasured reminders of his skill and passion.

Beyond his craftsmanship, Darren enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid fan of sports, regularly cheering on his favorite teams—the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and St. Louis Blues. In his younger years, he also embraced the joys of fishing and camping, surrounded by nature.

On May 31, 1986, Darren was united in marriage to Kimberly Bone in a small church in Caledonia. This union flourished into a beautiful family. Darren is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Young; six children: Darren "Rusty" Young Jr., Ryan Young, Joshua Goe, Andrew Young (wife, Stephanie), Corey Young (wife, Jessie), and Shannin Young. His love extended to his seven grandchildren—Marissa Young, Darren Young III, Tyrell Johnson, Gavin Womble, Cambria Young, Luna Young, and Wyatt Young; and his great-granddaughter, Sophia. He took great pride in his role as "Popo," a title that reflected the warmth and affection he shared with them. Darren also leaves behind his siblings, Robbie Young, Kimberly Fatch (husband, Frank), and Melissa Feltus (husband, Robert); as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family. 

Darren's family wishes to thank his sister, Melissa as well as Serenity Hospice for the tender care shown during his illness. 

There will be no formal services. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to DeClue Funeral Home.
