Darrel Manuel Crossen of Cadet, Missouri departed this life on August 17, 2016 at the Mercy Hospital – Jefferson having reached the age of seventy five years. He was born on August 10, 1941, in Neelyville, Missouri, a son to the late Manuel Crossen and the late Winifred (Fallin) Crossen.
On February 27, 1972, Darrel was united in marriage to Linda Sue Perris in St. Louis, Missouri and they shared forty four years together.
Darrel; husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. A gentleman and a man's man. A veteran, musician, writer, and postal deliverer. He will be missed by all who knew him. Those who love him like to think that he's pickin' his guitar and making music in Heaven.
Darrel is survived by his beloved wife of forty four years, Linda Crossen of Cadet; three children: Vickie Smith and husband David of St. Charles, Diana Cantrell and husband Keith of Blackwell, and Darrel Crossen and Hillary Lore of Cadet; sister: Diane Carver and husband Floyd of Lonedell; step-brother, Pete Bell and wife Cheryl of Independence; step-sisters: Alice Axley and husband Ron of Festus, and Shirley Waymire and husband Willard of Festus; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; also surviving are many other relatives and friends.
Darrel is preceded in death by his father, Manuel Crossen; mother, Winifred Crossen-Bell; son, Shawn David Crossen; and step-father, John Bell.
Darrel served his country in the United States Army from November 22, 1965 until November 15, 1967. During his service, Dareel received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Sharpshooter award.
A Celebration of Life Service and Military Honors for Darrel will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 4:00 PM held at the DeSoto Community Center, located at 400 Boyd St, DeSoto, MO 63020.
