Darlene Jane Eye of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on November 2, 2006, at her residence, having reached the age of 64 years and 6 days. She was born at Marquand, Missouri on October 27, 1942, a daughter of the late Wilburm Clarence Shrum and Jane Elizabeth (Brown) Shrum.
On April 23, 1960 she was united in marriage to Wendell Eye at Berryman, Missouri and three children were born to that union. Darlene was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was co-owner of Summertime Pools. She attended college and earned her Associates Degree in Business. She was saved and a member of White Oak Grove Baptist Church for 42 years. She loved Jesus over everything else. She had a God gifted talent for playing the piano and was the Church pianist for White Oak Grove Church for 38 years. She was also a studio pianist in Nashville, TN back in the 1960s. She played for many weddings, funerals and Church events in and around the Potosi area for most of her life. She loved her music and shared it with others as often as possible.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her husband, Wendell Eye; her son, Kelly Eye and wife Kellie of Potosi; two daughters, Cindy Kopp of Potosi, Natalie Weeks and husband Craig of Potosi; two brothers, Rev. Ronald Shrum and wife Janice of Kennett, Rev. William Shrum and wife Karen of Lebanon; a sister, Carol Ann Cullins and husband Marshall of Potosi; seven grandchildren, Jake Eye, David Kopp, Boone Morgan, Lane Morgan, Kaitlin Weeks, Olivia Farris and Andrew Farris.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at 2 PM at the White Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Joe Wilkerson and Rev. Melvin Reed officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Michael Eye, Donnie Eye, David Kopp, Jake Eye, Boone Morgan, and Lane Morgan. Honorary pallbearers were Kelly Eye and Rex Isgriggs.
Interment and final prayers were held at White Oak Grove Cemetery, Shirley, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
