Coach Russell

August 8, 1937 — April 8, 2010

Freddie Ray Russell of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on April 8, 2010 at his residence having reached the age of seventy two years and eight months. He was born on August 8, 1937 at Elvins, Missouri a son to the late Fred Russell and Edna (Robinson) Russell.

On September 29, 1962, Fred was united in marriage to Linda Yancey and they shared forty seven years together.

Fred was a member of the Potosi Southern Baptist Church. He was the best marble player as a kid and was a loyal person to everyone. He loved watching his grandchildren playing and sitting by the pool.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Amy Elizabeth Schroer, Sister Norma Jean Russell and Brother V. Paul Limbaugh.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Linda Russell of Potosi; two daughters Christina Schroer and husband Joe of Jefferson City; Kay Malugen and husband Kevin of Farmington; five grandchildren Suzanne Schroer, Devon Schroer, Jacob Malugen, Madison Malugen and Jordan Malugen; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 2 PM at the Potosi Southern Baptist Church with Rev. H. Wayne Isgriggs officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Jacob Malugen, Jordan Malugen, Devon Schroer, Mike Mapes, Larry Portell, Marvin Johnson, Danny Kesselring, Julie Huff, and Loretta Dunn.

Interment and final prayers were held at Redbud Memorial Gardens. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
