Clyta Jo Richart of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on September 6, 2007 at her residence, having reached the age of seventy-one years and twenty-five days. She was born on August 12, 1936 at Belgrade, Missouri, a daughter of the late Clyde Phillip Gilman and Dorothy Evelyn (Mason) Gilman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Richart who passed away in September, 2003. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She taught school for many years and was admired by all who knew her.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her children, Dixie McMullin of Potosi, Cheryl McMullin of Potosi, Kevin McMullin and wife Tanya of LaHarpe, Kansas; step daughter Stacey Salzberg of St. Charles; brothers Glen Gilman and wife Mary Lou of Imperial, Missouri, James Gilman and wife Donna of Pittsberg, Missouri; sisters Ladonna Whaley and husband Orville of French Village, Missouri, Robin Dickman and husband Doug of Imperial, Missouri; six grandchildren, Justin Mercer and wife Crystal, Jillian Mercer and husband Adam Bush, Taylor Salzberg McMullin, Josh Salzberg, Liz Salzberg, T.J. Salzberg; eight great-grandchildren, Jason Jr., Jarod, Jazmine, Keagan, Marguerite, Jakob, Morgan, Skylar; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 PM on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, Potosi with Rev. Jeff Richards officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Justin Mercer, Adam Bush, Kip Whaley, Randy Gilman, Doug Dickman and Russ Scherling.
Interment and final prayers were held at Sunlight Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
