Cleo Irland Shepard of Cadet, Missouri, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family, having reached the age of seventy six years and seven days. He was born on July 18, 1939 in Washington County, Missouri, a son to the late Henry Shepard and Nancy (Johnson) Shepard.
On February 2, 1963, Cleo was united in marriage to Judy Rulo and they shared forty five years together. After Judy's passing, Cleo remarried to Dorothy Maloney on October 15, 2011 and they shared nearly four years together.
Cleo is survived by his wife Dorothy Shepard of Cadet; daughter Mary Jean Moser and husband John of Desloge; two brothers Lloyd Shepard and wife Juanita of Cadet and Golden Shepard of Cadet; sister Lucille "Lora" Sutton and husband Calvin of Hillsboro; four grandchildren Bruce Carter and wife Maggie; Eddie Carter; Stacey Hosking; Tracy Carter; five great grandchildren Whitney; Madeline; Hailey; Brianna and Skylar; brother-in-law Ray Rulo; sisters-in-law Mac Price and husband Roger and Diane Bequette and husband Jim; also surviving are four step children Charles Coonfield and wife Sandy of Viburnum; Steve Coonfield of St. Louis; Vicki Coonfield of Laquey, Missouri; Gary Coonfield and wife Lynn of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; step grandchildren Ashley; Stephanie; April and many nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Cleo was preceded in death by his wife Judy Shepard; the mother of his daughter Norma Helms; sisters Mildred Fitzwater; Alice Boyer; brothers Kenneth; Richard; Taylor; and Elvis Shepard; sisters-in-law Vernie Rulo; Rachael Shepard and Geraldine Shepard and nephew Devin Wills.
Visitation for Cleo was held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Covenant Grace Church of God. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 9:00-11:00 am at the Covenant Grace Church of God.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 11:00 am at Covenant Grace Church of God with Rev. Robert Thurman officiating. Honoring Cleo by serving as pallbearers were Dennis Rulo, Tony Rulo, Bruce Carter, Eddie Carter, Randy Vance, Buddy Wills and Blake Rulo.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements for Cleo were respectfully cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
