Cleo Estelle (Parmely) Marler, formerly of Lima, Ohio, departed this life January 17, 2012 in Lima, Ohio at the age of ninety two years and sixteen days. She was born on January 1, 1920 in Fort Dodge, Iowa a daughter to the late John Tilford Parmely and Margaret Elizabeth (Latham) Parmely.
In addition to her parents, Cleo was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin Floyd Marler (who was a decedent of the local Marler and Jenkins families), two brothers Max and Gaylord Parmely, her sister Phyllis (Parmely) DeMay and one very young grandchild Dennis Marler and one great grandchild Jesse Bradley.
Those who remain to mourn her passing include her two sons Will Marler and his wife Dorothy of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Edmund Marler of Lima, Ohio; several grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one great grandchild and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
For the last seven years, Cleo resided with her son Edmund, who provided loving and attentive care.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 1 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Liberty Baptist Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
